Tip #1: Use your whole body when catching shuttles. Especially the legs.
Tip #2: Warm up and get your blood flowing. Maybe even shout a bit. Adrenaline will increase your reaction time
Nearly every sports where a good reaction time is needed are using overspeed training to improve reaction time. In badminton, you’ll often see multi shuttle training where a player is getting a lot of shots in a row faster than in a normal match. This also serves as conditioning training. However, research has shown that training your eye-hand coordination also improves your reaction time. This does not necessarily needs to involve a faster heart rate which can be advantageous.
Eye-hand coordination is also a part of your balance. Training your balance will also lead to better quickness and reaction time.
