Polymer clay is one of my go to sculpting materials because it stays pliable until you are done working with it, and it can be baked in the oven to finish! This video covers a few of the different kinds of polymer clay, the difference between softer and firmer clay, a simple demo on how to build up your shapes, and the effect of mineral spirits and alcohol on the clay’s surface.
I highly recommend this clay if you want to take your time with the sculpting process to render something accurately, and you want to have a finished product to keep afterwards.
In future tutorials we will cover how to mix different polymer clays together, how to stick it to a wire frame, and how to bake it!
